Leadership Butler County stands as one of Pennsylvania’s most enduring and esteemed leadership development programs, boasting an impressive legacy of more than 30 graduating classes and a thriving alumni network exceeding 600 members to date. Guided by a dedicated 15-member board, Leadership Butler County consistently assembles diverse cohorts of professionals representing a wide spectrum of industries and career stages. Our participants include Presidents/CEOs, small business owners, emerging young professionals destined for leadership roles, and dedicated nonprofit professionals, among others.

About the Program: Commencing its journey in 1991, Leadership Butler County saw its first graduating class in 1992. The program spans a year, encompassing 13 enlightening sessions and culminating in a significant community project. Our primary objective revolves around cultivating “Servant Community Leaders” by instilling awareness of the challenges and opportunities prevalent in Butler County.

Session Themes: Our program structure includes diverse session themes, covering Opening Sessions/Team Building, Executive Skills, Human Services, Media & Politics, Government, Manufacturing, Regional Leadership, Education System, Public Speaking, Health Care, Southern Butler County, Northern Butler County, and Agriculture & Aviation.

Scholarships: Each year, the Leadership Butler County Board of Directors extends a 50% scholarship to nonprofit professionals who submit aid requests as part of their application process. In addition, the Stan Kosciuszko Scholarship, initiated in 2022, offers 50% scholarships to small business owners and their employees who seek financial assistance. This scholarship was originally founded by former Chamber President Stan Kosciuszko, whose instrumental efforts revitalized and safeguarded Leadership Butler County in the early 2000s. It is now sustained by proceeds from the Dan Swartz Memorial Clay Shoot.

Stan Kosciuszko Leadership Excellence Award: An esteemed accolade, the Stan Kosciuszko Leadership Excellence Award is presented annually to a Leadership Butler County alumnus who stands as an industry leader and an indispensable pillar of the Butler County community. The recipients of this prestigious award are identified and voted upon by past awardees and the current Chamber President before receiving the approval of the Leadership Board.
