Join us for the Annual Community Champion Luncheon, a cherished tradition since 2004, honoring individuals and organizations that have made a monumental impact on the betterment of our community. This year, we’re proud to celebrate The Ellen O'Brien Gaiser Center, which recently opened Pennsylvania's first and only licensed three-quarter house serving women and children right here in Butler County.
About the Award
The Community Champion Award highlights local pioneers whose dedication and efforts have significantly contributed to the welfare and development of our community. It is awarded to those who go above and beyond to make Butler County a better place to live, work, and grow. Past recipients have included a diverse mix of individuals and organizations, all united by their selfless commitment to community service.
About the Honoree
Ellen’s House is a sober living home, also known as a three-quarter house, serving women transitioning back to independent living following treatment in a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. Named in honor of Ellen O’Brien Gaiser, a long-time Executive Director of the Gaiser Center, Ellen’s House provides a safe and supportive environment where women in recovery can continue their journey of sobriety with increased independence.
As Butler County’s first state-licensed recovery home exclusively serving women and children, Ellen’s House assists women in re-entering the workforce and reuniting with their families after completing formal treatment. The family-focused facility encourages women with children to have their kids visit and stay overnight, further supporting their recovery and family connections.
