Local Professionals and Community Leaders Show Off Culinary Skills in 4th Annual Men Who Cook Fundraising Event
WISR 680-AM will be serving up another evening of food and fun with the 4th annual Men Who Cook Dinner Dance on Saturday, February 15 at the Butler Vagabond Center. This unique fundraiser features local celebrities, businessmen, educators, and political leaders sharing samples of their best dishes, and benefits the St. Vincent de Paul food bank.
Those donning chef hats for the evening are professionals in their respective fields, but in the kitchen are strictly amateurs. Each of the men will offer samples of their creations in hopes of earning the vote of each guest. Each attendee gets one voting ticket to help determine which “chef” will win our Golden Fork award and be inducted into the MWC Hall of Fame. The friendly competition is fierce among the men, who have been promoting their participation and encouraging friends, colleagues, and coworkers to attend to garner votes for their dishes.
The BYOB event is sponsored by Armstrong, and features music, dancing, and a basket raffle to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul food bank. Guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable item to donate. All items are appreciated but at this time, the food bank is especially in need of canned vegetables and peanut butter. With the help of donations and community support, the St. Vincent de Paul food bank was able to aid over 13,000 families last year. Advance tickets are $20 ($25 at the door) and are available online at ButlerRadio.com and at the Butler Radio Network studios at 252 Pillow Street in Butler. WISR radio is owned and operated by the Butler Radio Network.
