After 22 years in business, and with existing offices in Butler and Erie PA, Lisa Guard, CEO of Specialized Staffing and Industry Recruiters merged with Temporaries North/TEC Staffing in Wexford PA because Diane Payne, President of Temporaries North wanted to retire. According to Guard, this expands their unique, personal and detailed approach to staffing and professional placement further into the Pittsburgh market. Specialized Staffing and Industry Recruiters, firmly rooted in Western Pennsylvania, has a remarkable knowledge of the local business landscape and employment requirements. Combining that knowledge with current, tech savvy resources allows them to match potential employers and employees with an eye to lasting, long-term, mutually beneficial relationships. In Guard’s words, “The company focus is on quality of placement, not quantity.”
This acquisition closes the circle on the business relationship of two remarkable women and entrepreneurs. Thirty-five years ago while employed by another staffing agency, Payne placed Guard in her first position after graduating college. Guard went on to find her niche in HR, ultimately opening Specialized Staffing and Industry Recruiters in 1997. Payne left her position as an employee to open Temporaries North in 1988. Until this merger and acquisition, neither had any contact with the other beyond the initial job placement. This business merger brings the two full circle, giving Guard an opportunity to serve an even greater market in Western Pennsylvania.
