Selection is based on: Unique Initiatives, Investment in Butler County, Innovative Approaches, People Philosophy/Employee Commitment, Recognition/Awards and Future Plans. This year, we have selected Slippery Rock University (SRU) as the 2016 Butler County Chamber of Commerce “Business Champion”. Ongoing unique initiatives have been numerous including the Regional Learning Alliance as well as new academic programs to keep pace with a changing world such as homeland security and natural gas engineering. With the motto “We believe. So we achieve” as their guiding mantra, SRU encourages staff and faculty to become involved in the community.
